lyrics

There's a ghost that sits across from me
A ghost that's already forgotten me
One still taking shots for me, one still double-crossing me
I wonder how much this will end up costing me

They float around exhausting me
They toast to how they got lost with me
They boast about who they ought to be
If they hadn't been caught dead with me

But the most they ever got from me
Was a dose of sad philosophy
In a note I wrote so thoughtlessly
I'm getting close to pulling their weights off of me

Whoever thought that air could weigh so much?

But I'm not half as sad as your dainty dandelion man
I've learned to toughen up my skin
I've got it twice as bad as your dainty dandelion man
And I ain't blowing away in the wind

Oh I've been haunted
Unwanted and taunted
But I remain undaunted
I still smile bright in the darkest night

When your own ghosts appear, gnashing their teeth
Shadows creeping up, reaching up from underneath
Sneaking under your sheets for something sweet to eat
Well there's a time to hide and a time fight

And now I'm light enough that they won't hear me coming

But I'm not half as sad as your dainty dandelion man
I've learned to toughen up my skin
I've got it twice as bad as your dainty dandelion man
And I ain't blowing away in the wind
